Consider enrolling them in the Florida Prepaid College fund and start a savings plan.

The plan allows you to pick from one or more options.  You may access their website at https://www.myfloridaprepaid.com.

Our own employee, Matt DiTarando, shared this information with us.  Matt and his wife made the decision to enroll both their children in this fund and by the time they reach 18 years of age, their college education will be completely paid for!  To quote, Matt “It’s about getting the kids in college and taking off their burden of having to come up with money for their education.”

For a small monthly payment, you are assuring that your children will not have to worry about student loans.  And, if for any reason the money is not used, you will always get your money back.

The Open Enrollment Period for the Florida Prepaid College Board is from October 14, 2014 through February 28, 2015.  However, if you enroll your children prior to December 31, 2014, the $50 application fee will be waived.
