COMANCO Begins Work on Pond Liner Extension in Central Florida
COMANCO crew members have begun the work of rehabilitating a reservoir used for water treatment in Central Florida. Crew members will begin stripping away the current material at the site to increase the grade of the pond, patching new liner to the existing to add acreage to the site.
“Old survey data, due to the age of the plant, brought some early complications,” project supervisor Russell Brit wrote. “[There was] a discrepancy caught at the site which was rectified before construction began.” Furthermore, Russell observed that due to tight quarters at the site, only smaller compaction equipment is being utilized instead of larger haul trucks and rollers.
At the time of project completion, the new modifications to the storage pond will use 1,370 CY of fill material and over 54,285 SF of the liner to expand the site. These latest modifications will increase the capacity of the reservoir.
