Just this past week COMANCO was able to reach a milestone on a spillway improvement project in Central Florida. Superintendent Scott Hall and the crew successfully completed the abandonment of a 48-inch CMP spillway. The crew utilized a concrete pump to fill the 178-foot pipe run and overflow weir with 108cy of a flowable fill grout mix. Due to limited access to the work area, the task was carefully planned to identify all possible safety hazards, and safety spotters were strategically placed when concrete trucks were being staged. As a result of the planning, this phase was completed in the required one day pour window with no incidents. Check back as this project begins to pick up steam!
