COMANCO Team Makes Progress On Containment Project In Mississippi.

The COMANCO Team has made outstanding progress on an extensive containment project in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Project Engineer David Ramirez says the crew is halfway through the first stage of this three-stage project. Stage one requires the installation of 50mil Gripnet, followed by ClosureTurf across the 69-acre job site. At this point, the team has installed approximately 3.1 million square feet of materials.

Their next step will be to complete a ballast system of sand infill over the ClosureTurf and place a HydroBinder at the down drains to help with higher velocity storm water control. The team’s biggest obstacle is the Mississippi heat, which can reach temperatures over 100 degrees, meaning plenty of breaks, staying hydrated, and watermelon toolbox talks. Daily communication and documentation between crew members and the customer are essential to the COMANCO Team and keep us on track to deliver a quality product.
