Earlier this week COMANCO began the HDPE leachate collection pipe system on a Central Florida Landfill expansion project.
Superintendent Matt Carroll and the team have been tasked with fusion welding 1,500LF of 8-inch perforated HDPE pipe. 30-inches of drainage gravel will cover the pipe and be wrapped in 16oz geotextile. COMANCO is utilizing a data logger to ensure that each weld is made at the highest quality. Once the burrito wrap is in place, the team will place two feet of protective cover on top to complete the collection system.
With pipework, geosynthetic installation and protective cover placement all ongoing, COMANCO are striving to maintain zero incidents while completing this project over the next couple of weeks!
