COMANCO is continuing the partial closure of a landfill near Tampa, Florida. This month, the crew has been working diligently on placing an 18″ lift of protective cover on a HDPE and Composite Drainage Net system, placing a 6″ lit of vegetative cover and then placing sod. The soil cover systems are being placed to grade with a GPS D6 dozer and surveyed by a 3rd party licensed surveyor in Florida.
The crew has also installed per the plans dual runs of 15″ corrugated HDPE pipe to collect stormwater. The crew is placing sod right behind the final 6″ vegetative cover to protect the work in place. The crew is currently led by Foreman Nate Wilfong and has been doing a great job of using spotters as necessary to keep separation of equipment and follow onsite road rules.
