COMANCO is currently installing White HDPE Liner Rain Tarp at the Pasco County Landfill in Spring Hill, Florida. The project started by removing the existing HDPE Geomembrane rain berm (placed by COMANCO in 2010) from the landfill cell bottom, and re-welding HDPE leachate collection pipe to allow the landfill to expand into the next sub-area. The electricity running to the pumps needed to moved during this time, which was also performed by COMANCO. Once completed, we were able to start grading the slopes and tops of the landfill. This consisted of 6” of sand cover over the existing ash. Around the perimeter, earth berms are required to be installed in order to direct the flow toward the fabriform outlets that dissipate in the perimeter ditch. We are currently scheduled to install and pour the fabriform “flumes” at the end of next week. The use of tires are placed over the HDPE liner as ballast. The project team is led by superintendents Todd Kirkman and Arnulfo Martinez, and project manager Matt Remmert. Please enjoy some progress photos!
