Indian River Landfill Project Near Completion

The Indian River Landfill Phase II Cell 1 Expansion project is nearing completion as the COMANCO team has been putting on the finishing touches here at the beginning of 2013. The crew, led by Project Superintendent Gary Mitchell, Jr., has been working over the past few weeks on installation of: riser pipes for the leachate collection system; dual contained pipe for the leachate conveyance system; a 60” concrete manhole; a 54” HDPE manhole; modifications to an existing manhole; a box culvert channel; a new aggregate-base road on top of the box culvert; a complete pumps, panels, and controls system for the collection/conveyance system; two (2) different rain berms running through and alongside the cell; and sod on the slopes and ditches.

Substantial Completion is set for Monday, January 14, 2013 as COMANCO will be set to demonstrate the system for the Engineer and County on this day. The project has had zero incidents of any kind and will finish on time and under budget.

Great work to everyone involved! Below are the latest pictures taken from the site.
