Progress is being made on the Indian River County Landfill project as the crew has reached a big milestone: completion of the Leachate Conveyance Trench. This trench will serve as a channel for leachate flow from the existing and new cells of the landfill. This task was very time and labor intensive as only 200 LF of the 1,200 LF trench could be worked on at a time.
The COMANCO team will now be focused on lining the Cell 1 Expansion since subgrade/subbase work is nearly completed. When the project is complete, Cell 1 will be functioning with a Leacahte Collection and Detection system and will be ready to be filled.
The biggest obstacle on the project so far has been delays due to rain, but productivity is continuing despite this as our crew works together as a team to ensure SAFETY, QUALITY, and SERVICE.
Keep up the good work, guys!
