Highlighting Women in Construction: Maria Maldonado Lopez
In honor of #WomenInConstructionWeek, COMANCO is highlighting our women in the field. Meet Maria Maldonado Lopez.
Maria has been in the field with COMANCO for four years and is one of our best Haul Truck Operators. Initially starting as a laborer, Maria moved her way up the ranks. Maria recalls asking her supervisor, as a Laborer, for the chance to try operating the Haul Truck. After allowing her to give it a shot, Maria’s supervisor quickly recognized her natural skill with the equipment and promoted her to Operator.
After four years in the field, Maria still loves her position. Her favorite part of working at COMANCO has been the people and the environment. Additionally, Maria loves her team and reports that everyone she works with is friendly and cares for each other. Additionally, she feels safe and respected by her teammates.
When she isn’t operating Haul Trucks, Maria likes spending time with her family, caring for her cats, and reading good books. Thank you for making COMANCO special, Maria!
