Over the past five months, COMANCO has been working on a landfill expansion project for a solid waste company in Central Florida. Just last week, Supervisor Gerardo Ruiz and the liner crew finished installing the last layer of geosynthetics. In all, the crew covered 9.5 acres with two layers each of GCL, 60mil HDPE liner, and double sided geocomposite. The crew was able to complete deployment ahead of schedule with no major safety incidents.
Along with liner installation, the earthwork crew led by Superintendent Chase Yarbrough and Foreman Matt Carroll continue placing 40,000 cubic yards of protective cover sand over the liner system as well as complete multiple HDPE pipe runs.
