COMANCO Employees Revisit FPP MSHA Course
Field employees revisit the FPP MSHA course annually as part of COMANCO’s safety policy. This February, 19 employees attended the Florida Phosphate Producers (FPP), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) refresher course as required.
The FPP course is a training program to address new hire and contractor safety. The orientation introduces workers to hazards they may encounter on site. Additionally, our employees receive a renewed certification by attending this class, providing access to the FPP member’s facility and mine sites.
Not only is this required by COMANCO, but Federal law mandates that all miners receive basic and annual training. The law also requires all mine operators to maintain an effective training plan. MSHA helps meet these training regulations by providing materials, guidance, and hands-on assistance to miners and operators.
COMANCO is always eager to invest in our employees’ growth, education, and promotions. Our February attendees have since received their new Florida Phosphate Producers Picture Identification Card (FPP ID Card), granting them renewed access to the Florida Phosphate Producers’ members’ chemical plant facilities.
