Jose joined COMANCO in August 2023 as a Project Engineer at our Elko Office. Jose has displayed a strong work ethic and a passion for learning from day one. Under the mentorship of David Ramirez, Jose quickly embraced the responsibilities of his role, providing vital support to both the field crew and management. His outstanding contributions did not go unnoticed, as Field Manager James Kile recognized his dedication and nominated him for this employee spotlight.
Jose’s efforts in his position as a Project Engineer ensure that COMANCO projects are executed efficiently and safely. His commitment to understanding every aspect of the job, from installation processes to quality control, reflects his determination to master his craft and contribute meaningfully to the team.

- Hospitality and Team Spirit: Jose ensures that every crew member in the West feels at home when they arrive at the Elko Office. From hosting cookouts for crews and customers to organizing crew meetings for training, he fosters a sense of camaraderie and unity.
- Driving Innovation and Efficiency: Recognizing the importance of quick response times for customers, Jose now drives the repair truck and chaser truck to job sites, streamlining operations and ensuring customer needs are met without delay.
- Empowering the Team: Jose works closely with crews, learning the intricacies of installation and quality control the COMANCO way. This hands-on approach allows him to understand the needs of both the field and office, ensuring the crews have the tools and knowledge to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
- Comprehensive Project Support: From creating job books (including SDS and MSHA requirements) to translating project details for better understanding, Jose ensures that every team member is fully prepared for the task at hand. He also handles travel arrangements and personally transports crews from the airport to their accommodations when needed.
- Ensuring Safety and Cleanliness: Whether he’s maintaining the Elko Office, using a snow blower to prevent slips and falls, or emphasizing safety protocols, Jose goes the extra mile to create a secure and welcoming workspace.
Exemplary Leadership
Jose’s leadership extends far beyond his day-to-day responsibilities. He actively motivates crew members to improve themselves and pursue growth opportunities, encouraging them to take on roles such as equipment operators, van drivers, and DOT vehicle operators.
By becoming a DOT-certified driver himself, Jose leads by example, demonstrating that advancement is achievable and that COMANCO is invested in its people. His ability to inspire and guide his team showcases his dedication to their success as individuals and as part of the company.
A Peek into Jose’s Personal Life
Jose’s dedication doesn’t stop at work—he’s equally committed to his family and community. A proud father of two beautiful daughters, Jose enjoys spending quality time with his wife, kids, and their two dogs.
On weekends, Jose and his family often gather at his parents’ house, where they watch football, share meals, and strengthen family bonds. When time permits, Jose and his family love taking boat rides and visiting parks to enjoy the outdoors together.
