Meet COMANCO’s Newest Employee Spotlight: Abnel Lopez
We are proud to introduce COMANCO’s newest Employee Spotlight: Abnel Lopez! Abnel was nominated for the Employee Spotlight Award for his outstanding performance as a Leadman. He has been an integral part of our team since joining COMANCO in 2011 and was promoted to Leadman in June 2023.
Nominated by Superintendent Alejandro Loza, Abnel consistently steps up as a leader and employee on his crew. For example, Loza recalls taking a leave of absence last year to be with his newborn daughter. He says Abnel took full responsibility for ensuring their project was executed safely and according to plan. His trustworthy execution in any scenario makes him an invaluable team member.
Lopez is an exceptional Leadman who always goes above and beyond to complete his duties and help his team with tasks. For example, Lopez works very closely with his peers and higher-ups to ensure every project he is responsible for meets or exceeds expectations. He is intentional on job sites and works with care, often accompanying Supt. Alejandro Loza when reviewing drone footage. He also always ensures the crew wears their PPE correctly and works safely.
In addition to his exceptional performance and work ethic, Lopez brings a positive attitude to every job site. He is a very involved leader, always working hand in hand with his team rather than just directing them. Lopez is considerate and well-spoken, adding to the qualities that make him a good leader. Both his peers and higher-ups consider him a pleasure to work with.
Beyond the Field:
But he isn’t just a Leadman; his leadership skills extend beyond the field to his family. Just like he is a very involved leader, he is a very involved father to his daughter. He often accompanies her to chess matches, where she competes. Besides spending time with his daughter, he enjoys watching soccer, his favorite sport.
Overall, Abnel Lopez is a skilled employee who deserves the Employee Spotlight Award. His personal and technical skills make him a valuable member of the team. We are proud of Abnel’s progress at COMANCO and look forward to witnessing his career flourish. Congratulations, Abnel!
