COMANCO Wraps Up Pond Liner Installation at Hollywood Beach Golf Club
COMANCO recently completed a pond liner installation project at the Hollywood Beach Golf Club in Hollywood, Florida. This project is part of the club’s broader renovation efforts. Officially finished on March 31st, COMANCO completed this job in partnership with QGS Development, the general contractor for this job site. Superintendent Pablo Medina led his crew on this project, ensuring the liner system was installed efficiently and safely despite the complex site conditions.
Precision at Every Layer
The new pond liner includes approximately 34,000 SF of 60mil textured black geomembrane liner. COMANCO also installed 54,000 SF of 16oz non-woven geotextile to enhance protection and durability. This geotextile was placed both under and over the liner. The top layer serves as a cushion in preparation for rip-rap installation. The project also included the installation of two pipe boots to ensure secure, watertight connections.
Challenges Below the Water Table
Although the scope was typical for pond liner projects, this job posed unique challenges. The pond’s elevation sits about 20 feet below the water table. As a result, the team had to work carefully to manage groundwater and maintain safety. Despite this dilemma, COMANCO successfully delivered a high-quality installation.
