COMANCO crew, led by Superintendent Matt Carroll, has been working on a central Florida landfill expansion project over the past few weeks. As clearing and stripping over the 10-acre cell has recently completed, COMANCO pushes forward with excavating and removing unsuitable material throughout the new cell limits. Once the unsuitable material is removed, clean fill material will take its place. Over the next week, COMANCO will look to ramp up and begin hauling and placing structural fill, along with continuing the removal of a previously used, unsuitable, material process. Overall, the crew will be hauling and placing nearly 40,000CY of subgrade fill material in order to complete the new cell construction. COMANCO has been utilizing safety spotters at various intersections to avoid any congestion with the daily landfill traffic. Continue to check back in as the crew pushes on.
