COMANCO Environmental has begun installation on a Leachate Collection System (LCS) & Forcemain for the first cell of a new Construction & Debris Landfill site being constructed in Jacksonville, FL. Currently, the 8” perforated HDPE pipe is being fusion welded together & installed at the cell’s invert and river gravel is being placed over the top with the use of crawler carriers. The pipe & gravel are then “burrito” wrapped & sewn with a non-woven geotextile to filter out any particles from getting in the system.
Next, a 10” x 6” dual-contained forcemain will be installed. The forcemain will tie-in with the LCS system at the Sump area and transfer all leachate to tanks. Foremen, Mike Bloodworth & Pedro Beltran, continue to make progress while implementing Safety as the #1 priority.
