When a client in central Florida proposed performing inspections on exposed ponds over ten of their sites, COMANCO was not content to continue the status quo of only performing visual inspections. Visual inspections leave room for human error and also may not provide thorough inspections underneath overlaps or tiny pinhole leaks. Sensing a problem, COMANCO’s QC team decided to utilize our in-house SENSOR DDS MIT Arc Tester and has committed to expanding CEC’s leak location services.
Monday morning, QC and Safety manager Greg Pignataro, Certified by T-CLIC in ELIS and LISA, led a course on the setup and safe use of this arc tester for Superintendent Larry Thomas and his crew and will accompany the inspections over the next month. After the first day, the crew reported back solid results while maintaining safe working conditions. Due to the inspections being on the slopes of the ponds, the crew must remain tied off to the truck and wear flotation devices while also wearing non-conductive shoes and rubber gloves for the safe use of the arc tester.
Thank you to the crew for keeping safety in mind while providing quality service to our customers! Keep up the good work!
