For the past month, COMANCO Environmental has been constructing a 12-acre landfill cell expansion in Pompano Beach, FL. The screening operation for the geosynthetic sub-grade was completed yesterday and has started being placed. By screening material that was already on-site to a finer product, only half of the geosynthetic soil base will need to be imported from off-site. In addition to placing this base material, COMANCO will be simultaneously installing the new HDPE gas collection system required for the new cell.
