COMANCO has been hard at work on a central Florida landfill expansion project since early July. Superintendent Matt Carroll has been leading the crew as construction ramps up. Over the last week, they have made significant progress on the removal of unsuitable material along with hauling and placing structural fill for the cell berms. Between the two activities, nearly 35,000 cubic yards of material has been moved to date. Over the coming weeks, COMANCO will look to complete the removal of unsuitable material, have subgrade prepared and begin installing the six-layer liner system. Check back for future updates!
