COMANCO reached a substantial milestone in the Polk County 30-acre cell expansion project this week. Led by Superintendent Nathan Wilfong, the team completed all plumbing for six (6) sump structures and completed successful pilot startup tests on all. Each pump station buried 28 LF below surrounding subgrade included 3” stainless steel and CPVC piping, check, plug and air release valves, as well as control devices such as level sensors, flow meters, etc. The components inside each structure breached the sumps via air-tight seals and transitioned into the previously installed 1200 LF of 6” force main. Please see photos below for a look.
It took a great amount of coordination by all parties involved to get these pump stations up and running. The guys did a great job working with our pump, fiber, and electrical subcontractors to make these pump stations operational to all personnel who will be maintaining the system. With only punchline items remaining for the entire project, the crew will stay committed to SAFETY ★ QUALITY ★ SERVICE.
