COMANCO is nearing completion at a local 11.5 acre landfill cell expansion in Bartow, FL. The cell installation which started in August, is in its final stages. The geosynthetics installation, a six layer leachate collection system, finished last week, and the crew is putting the final touches on the new cell. They are currently hauling protective sand cover on top of the geosynthetics, and installing the 8″ leachate collection system, which includes a gravel and textile wrap. The storm water work, consisting of 48″and 36″ RCP, fabriform installation, turf reinforcement, and sodding is now underway. The project is expected to be completed by early January.
The crew is demonstrating excellent resolve, making sure everyone is focusing on the tasks at hand, and not letting the busy holiday season distract from the work at hand.
