COMANCO Nears Completion at a Northern Nevada Gold Mine

by

COMANCO Environmental is in the final few days of deployment at a gold mine’s heap leach expansion project near Lovelock, Nevada. Superintendent Martin Calderon and the 9 man crew have deployed over 1,025,000 SF of 80mil Textured HDPE geomembrane, 275,000 SF of 12oz Non-Woven Geotextile, and 755,000 SF of GCL. All materials are running down a 2.5:1 slope and tie into an existing phase. The crew has welded over 5,500 LF to tie the two phases together. Also, the crew has performed numerous repairs in different locations within the mine.

With winter weather in full effect, the crew has had to shovel snow off of the liner in order to continue moving forward.  The crew is taking extra precautions to maintain a safe work environment while working on the slick slopes. There have also been many days with high winds but Martin and the crew has continued to move forward without incident while still maintaining COMANCO’s great quality. Thank you guys on another project well done!
