COMANCO is continuing deployment of a multi-layer geosynthetic installation at a landfill in Sylmar, California. The project consists of installing 30mil HDPE geomembrane, 40mil HDPE geomembrane, 60mil HDPE geomembrane, 80mil HDPE geomembrane, GCL, 16oz geotextile, and 250mil double sided geocomposite. This complex installation has as many as eight layers of geosynthetics in multiple locations. The crew has installed over 750,000 SF of geosynthetics so far. Superintendent Tony Sanchez and crew are working on 2:1 slopes in heavily congested areas but have taken extensive measures to maintain a safe work environment.
