COMANCO Environmental is efficiently moving along with a 60-acre landfill closure project located in Southeast, GA. Of the 60-acres to be closed, approximately 20 acres have been covered with a specialty ClosureTurf® system, which includes the installation of a 50-mil LLDPE Super Gripnet geomembrane, a polyethylene grass turf mat, and sand ballast infill. Roughly 90% of the leachate forecmain ~3,200 LF, over half of the 6,225 LF of leachate toe drain and 1/3 of the gas header / lateral system has been installed as well. The stormwater management scope is keeping up as well. To date, 5 of the 6 outfall systems have been installed. This includes over 2,500 LF of 24″ HDPE ADS culvert pipe and 4 concrete headwalls poured in placed. Superintendents, Nathan Wilfong and Jorge Barrantes, continue to lead the 30+ man crew while maintaining a safe and quality job site. Please see below aerial photos of construction.
