The Geosynthetics Industry, as a whole, lacks universally accepted proof of authentic Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) practices and protocols. Owners and design engineers do not unanimously require credentialing. Additionally, the majority of the business still relies on field personnel to handwrite QA/QC documentation that does not get used past the acceptance period of the liner system.
These insufficiencies allow a great deal of room for human error, the ability to alter records from what was actually executed and the inability to retroactively perform future, uncomplicated maintenance throughout the lifetime of a system. Substandard practices and protocols continue to leave the door open for deficient installations and questionable products for owners.
COMANCO understands the need for authenticity when it comes to construction, especially environmental construction. We have been in the geosynthetics liner business ever since the industry’s conception; over 29 years. COMANCO is an Accredited Installation Contractor₁ (AIC) with the International Association of Geosynthetic Installers (IAGI) since 2010 and has over 90% of our liner installation workforce as Certified Welding Technicians (licensed CWT).
During the past 3 decades, we have been at the forefront of our industry, continually looking for ways to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the quality of our work by use of technology, purchasing the newest equipment, and spending resources to continually educate our workforce from Project Managers to labor personnel. The resulting products and subsequent data packages are widely accepted (and approved) by engineers and permitting entities alike. We are routinely consulted by design firms to help specify similar, if not mimic, procedures and reporting methods for their future projects’ requirements.
