Last week, COMANCO Environmental completed a project in Port St. Lucie, FL where a geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) was installed in a 300 LF trench. The trench was excavated approximately 9′ deep, then the GCL panels were installed vertically to the bottom then the trench was backfilled and compacted. GCL is composed of bentonite and clay material which will act as an impermeable barrier from seepage of a future stormwater pond to an adjacent wetland. Supervisor, Kenny Frazier, and his 3-man crew did a great job completing this job safely and ahead of schedule.
