COMANCO has completed a stormwater improvement project in Southern Alabama. The scope of work included building a storm water fore bay, enhancements to two existing stormwater detention ponds including a sediment control baffle system in each, relocating & improving access roads, , replacing non-functional drainage culverts with new Fabriform Headwalls & HDPE Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS) pipes with rip-rap outlet basins and restoring storm water ditches to create proper drainage. Turf-Reinforcement Mat (TRM) was installed to help with erosion control after these areas were applied with hydroseed.
The skilled crew had to work very cautiously in the confined commercial work zone without interfering with daily operations for the active landfill with the presence of numerous existing underground utilities. Great job by the team for coordinating heavy machinery while continually maintaining a high level of safety awareness. The crew was led by Supervisor, Matt Carroll, and Foreman, Pedro Beltran.
