Tomorrow, COMANCO Environmental will begin installing 60-mil HDPE textured geomembrane for the vertical expansion of a coal ash landfill. The new area to be lined was previously stripped and received import soil fill that was graded to a prepared sub-grade. The total expansion will cover roughly 1.5 acres with 950 linear feet of new HDPE geomembrane being tied into the existing system. A layer of geocomposite and 2′ of protective cover soil will be placed over the geomembrane. Superintendent, Tommy Hermann and Project Manager, Clayton Lung have help lead these efforts.
