COMANCO Environmental has completed the 2nd and final phase of a jet fuel containment project at Jacksonville International Airport (JIA). A month ago, the floor portion of a 3-part geosynthetic system was installed prior to the concrete containment structure being poured.
COMANCO came back once the structure was poured and tied into the floor layers consisting of an HDPE geomembrane cushioned between two layers of geotextile. The 3 layers then continued up the structure’s walls and were extrusion welded to an HDPE embed at the top of the concrete wall. Two pipe boots were installed as well.
