COMANCO Environmental has recently begun deployment of a gyp stack expansion project in Southeast Idaho. The project includes the installation of 182,000 SF of 60mil single-sided HDPE geomembrane, 68,000 SF of 60mil double-sided HDPE geomembrane, and 32,000 SF geocomposite vent strips. The liner is being deployed on a 1.7:1 slope and tying into three existing ponds.
This is a very complicated deployment due to the steep slopes, mostly smooth liner, and tying into existing ponds that are nearly full. The crew is taking extensive measures to ensure the safety of each employee. Every employee is wearing a life jacket, safety harnesses, and tying off while on the slopes. Superintendent Arnulfo Martinez, Safety Officer Francisco Vargas, and the 10 man crew are off to a good start while maintaining a safe work environment. Keep up the great work and we look forward to seeing the progress on this project as deployment continues!
