The men out at the Polk County Landfill are working hard to set the six (6) pump station sump structures and complete the leachate collection/leachate detection piping. Concrete ballast pours have begun on pump stations 1 and 3. Over 6000 LF of perforated collection piping will be welded and the first run installed in subcell 1 this week.
Subcell 3’s dewatering sock drain has been completed, and subgrade is just about prepped for the remaining secondary liner to be installed. This would complete the secondary system over the entire 30-acre footprint. Also, the protective cover layer is nearing completion on the north side of subcell 1.
