COMANCO crews are continuing the installation of a slope drain system at a local gypsum stack in central Florida. The crew, led by Superintendent Gary Mitchell, has installed more than 7,500 feet of the 24″ header pipe, and more than 6,000 feet of the lower slope drain. The scope of the installation work also includes installing manholes that connect the header pipe to the slope drains as well as to the drain system outside of the stack. COMANCO has been battling the heavy Florida rains by using three dewatering pumps around the clock, and maintaining the grade and condition of the site roads daily. The crew has been working since March, and are expected to complete the entire project by January, 2016.
