Last week, COMANCO completed the sediment removal and repair of a liner system at Southern Gardens Citrus, an orange juice processing plant in south Florida. COMANCO was tasked with removing the sediment that is a natural by-product of the juice processing operation, and repairing the existing lined ditches. The crew utilized a long stick excavator to remove the sediment, and then loaded it into a spreader, which in turn took the sediment away to spread back in the orange groves as fertilizer. COMANCO successfully cleaned out the ditches and repaired the liner to allow for a clean start to the main juicing season. The crew led by Superintendent Todd Kirkman and Project Manager Dan McRae completed the project safely, on schedule, and on budget!
