COMANCO completes the horizontal expansion of a new coal combustion waste landfill in Orlando, FL. The new cell is located at the OUC Stanton Energy Center, and was over 32 acres in size. COMANCO worked tirelessly alongside the earthwork contractors Tetra Tech Construction and SWS Environmental to complete the four layer geosynthetic cell, which featured two layers of 60mil HDPE, two layers of a combination of four different types of geocomposite, and a 20mil rain tarp covering the slope of the existing adjacent cell. The COMANCO team, led by Superintendent Tony Sanchez was able to complete the seven month project injury free, with an amazing ZERO Destructive Test Failures!
