COMANCO Environmental has finished their first mobilization of a jet fuel containment project at Jacksonville International Airport (JIA). Three layers of geosynthetics consisting of an HDPE geomembrane sandwiched between 2 layers of geotextile were installed over a gravel (wrapped in geotextile) sub-base. A concrete foundation and walls are to be poured next before COMANCO will mobilize back to site to continue the geosynthetics up the wall. The geomembrane will be extrusion welded to an HDPE embed at the top of the wall to fully secure the system.
