Last week, COMANCO Environmental began a project at a landfill in Carolina, Puerto Rico. The new landfill cell is about eleven acres and will have three layers of geosynthetics. The first layer to be installed is GCL, followed by 60-mil HDPE liner, and finally, a double-sided Geocomposite. Since arriving on site, Tony Sanchez and his 12-man crew have faced tough conditions; it has rained almost every day. Regardless, the guys have done a tremendous job working safely and efficiently. So far, they’ve managed to install about 100,000 SF of GCL and 60-mil textured HDPE liner.
