A COMANCO crew led by Project Superintendent Bill Newman has started a drainage improvements project on a closed phosphate site in Central Florida. The work has begun with lowering the water level in a large pond on site in order to grade the banks of the pond. The crew will then replace an outfall structure and install new Fabriform and rip rap. Finally, the outfall ditch, where this pond drains, will be graded in order to improve how the system functions during a severe rainfall event.
