The Women in Geosynthetics held a roundtable yesterday at the Geosynthetics Conference 2020 Case Studies conducted at the Charleston Area Convention Center in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Some of the topics discussed at the roundtable were promoting the advancement of women in the industry, what it takes to be a female construction leader, how do we recruit more women in the industry, encouraging women to become a part of a male-dominated industry and so much more. The Fabricated Geomembrane Institute at the University of Illinois has created the group “Women in Geosynthetics” (WIG) in order to promote the advancement of women in the geosynthetic industry through education, networking and mentoring programs.
