Julie Hughes, Fleet Supervisor at COMANCO, and Natalia Shreve, HR, attended an enlightening conference “Groundbreaking Women in Construction” on June 12th in New York City, hosted by ENR. Julie, Natalia and hundreds of other women who attended this annual ENR’s conference were encouraged by many inspiring female speakers, who achieved tremendous success in the construction industry. We asked questions, networked, shared best practices and strategies of overcoming obstacles and realizing our professional goals. Natalia connected with Janice Tuchman, ENR’s Editor-in-Chief; and Julie sought professional advice from influential and distinguished Aine Brazil, P.E., Vice Chairman at a large residential construction firm. We were reminded to create opportunities, take on calculated risks, expand our professional networks, find mentors and career sponsors who can help us, women in construction, propel our careers further in this exciting industry!
