COMANCO was out in strong attendance at the 16th Annual Bar-B-Que and Social last night which was held at the Lakeland Center in Lakeland, FL. This event allows the phosphate industry to come together as a group to support our policy leaders and promote the interests of this industry. In the current political environment, it is more critical now than ever for the industry to maintain a strong presence in the political arena.
The event was a great success and welcomed over 1300 professionals who work in the phosphate industry. Terry Baker with PotashCorp opened the event introducing guest speakers Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater, Congressman Dennis Ross and Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn. After the BBQ dinner buffet, Jeff Clyne, Mid-State Machine President introduced the special guest speaker of the evening, Laura Ingraham, Conservative Political Analyst; Fox New Contributor; Acclaimed Radio Host, The Laura Ingram Show, New York Times Best Selling Author and Editor in Chief and Co-Founder, LifeZette.
The guests also heard from other guest speakers, Karen Swager with Mosaic and Mike Williams with PotashCorp who shared updates pertaining to the phosphate industry.
