On December 21, 2012, COMANCO reached the Substantial Completion milestone at West Nassau Landfill in Callahan, FL. The scope of work consisted of capping and closing roughly 30 acres of the landfill, establishing a new gas system and installing a stormwater drainage system. A 50-mil LLDPE geomembrane and 8 oz/sy NW geotextile were used to seal the landfill with 2’ of protective cover soil material & sod covering the liner system. Even with enduring major delays caused by Tropical Storms Beryl & Debby over the summer, the project was completed before the contracted finish date.
