From the desk of COMANCO’s Safety and HR Coordinator, Cindy Reed:
New Year’s Eve is once again upon us. As the clock runs down for 2015, many people will be drinking, dancing, and telling stories, and making goals for the upcoming year. Whether celebrating at a house party with friends and family, or out at an event, taking a few precautions will ensure that everyone gets to and from their destinations safely.
- If you plan to drive on New Year’s Eve, don’t drink and drive.
- If you have a friend who does not drink, ask them to be the designated driver. If that person happens to end up drinking anyway, call a taxi or another sober driver to assist.
- If you are the designated driver, be alert behind the wheel and be aware of your surroundings.
- If someone appears intoxicated, keep them from driving and call a cab to ensure they get home safely.
Celebrating an end to 2015 should be a joyous and healthy time for us all. As we bring in the New Year, please keep these tips in mind to have a safe and wonderful time with your loved ones!
Happy New Year!
