COMANCO Replaces Golf Course Pond Liner at Mountain Lake Golf Course

COMANCO is currently completing a golf course pond remediation project at Mountain Lake Golf Course, where our crews replaced an aging pond liner with a new 60mil HDPE MicroSpike® geomembrane manufactured by AGRU America. Replacing an Aging Golf Course Pond Liner
The scope of work included demolishing and removing the existing liner before installing the new 60-mil HDPE MicroSpike liner system. Demolition operations were managed by Leadman Tony Morris Jr., while Superintendent Martin Calderon Sr. led the liner installation.
Removing an existing liner often reveals conditions that aren’t visible during project planning. Successful projects depend on experienced crews who can adapt while maintaining quality and schedule.
Solving Field Challenges Through Collaboration
During construction, the team discovered that the existing pond elevations did not match the original design plans. Rather than allowing the discrepancy to delay progress, COMANCO Superintendent Martin Calderon Sr., QC Engineer Josmar Garcia, and Project Manager Aamin Joshi worked directly with the owner to determine the preferred elevations for both the anchor trench and pond floor.
Once the revised elevations were established, the crew completed additional sod stripping and subgrade preparation to achieve the desired grades before continuing liner installation.
