Over the past few weeks, COMANCO has been hard at work on a spillway modification project at a Central Florida chemical facility. Superintendent Scott Hall along with Jeremy Giles have been prepping for pouring a concrete saddle around an existing 36-inch CMP spillway. The crew first had to refurbish the pipe by coating it with a rust inhibitor and zinc-enriched paint. The next steps included cutting and setting forms, along with backfilling and compacting around the saddle for stability. Once the saddle pour is complete, the crew can focus on building the pond dike back to grade. Check back later this week to see how the saddle turns out!
