COMANCO continues its advisory role as a valued customer of John Deere with an on-going membership in the Worksight Customer Advisory Group. With a significant fleet of John Deere equipment, COMANCO is in a prime position to offer advice and guidance to the team at Deere. Throughout the year the CAG members are in contact sharing information, surveys, and problem-solving. This input benefits COMANCO as our specific needs and issues are addressed in near real time.
The CAG meets every year at a Deere Facility and works through an aggressive agenda of topics covering both current and future Deere products. This year the group met at the Deere-Hitachi plant in Kernersville, North Carolina. The Kernersville factory manufactures Deere-Hitachi Excavators and can put out up to 32 Excavators a week. The plant builds the bulk of the Excavator line focusing on the mid-range 130-470 sizes.
Ron Soczawa exhibited a new Excavator Grade Control System by John Deere. The new TopCon and Trimble systems’ capabilities were demonstrated at the facilities proving ground. The highlight of the demonstration was getting to operate the new equipment. The power and precision of this system is something to be seen!
Deere-Hitachi HR Manager Tony Smits gave the CAG an extensive tour of the facilities. The tour covered both the Main and East Campuses (known as the “hot” and “cold” buildings in reference to the welding done on the Main Campus). Due to policy, no photography was allowed on most of the tour, but the facility is state of the art with robots and automation on full display.
This collaboration with Deere is just another way COMANCO is able to bring a higher level of SAFETY, top QUALITY, and superlative SERVICE.
