COMANCO Fleet recently purchased two more new, round SPREADER BARS which are lighter in weight and easier to carry. The benefits of this lightweight bar allow less manpower when loading trailers and reduces the possibility of serious injuries. In our continued effort to reduce risk and increase productivity, COMANCO purchased one of these bars in late 2015 and has continued to receive positive feedback from the field. Even though the bar is lighter in weight, it is still able to carry the same amount of weight as the heavier spreader bars being used in the past. Another benefit is the reduction in weight that is carried in our gooseneck trailers; this has been reduced significantly. Overall, this spreader bar weighs, including the cradle, a total of 675 pounds. This is in comparison to the older models that weighed over 2,000 pounds.
COMANCO has also purchased another unique spreader bar that comes with composite ends and has the ability to carry the same weight. These units were purchased to be used on our projects out West. It will be part of the load out in the recently purchased new box truck. Again, the benefits of this spreader bar are light in weight and allow the field employees out West the ability to move the bar easier and with less personnel.
