A COMANCO crew recently began a 61-acre landfill closure project with an expected work schedule of over 100 days. The project consists of a 40mil LLDPE Double-sided Textured Geomembrane liner and Double-sided Geocomposite and over 250 pipe boot penetrations throughout the closure. This landfill closure is located approximately 1 ½ hours from the downtown Chicago area.
Supervisor Jorge Gomez and his crew mobilized to the site on 5/26/16 filling over 11,000 sand bags. The liner deployment started on 6/3/16 which included several days of rain with no work. In only four days of work, the COMANCO crew has already deployed over 8 acres of geomembrane liner. The COMANCO crew will anticipate completing 100,000sf plus daily of installed materials to keep on schedule.
