COMANCO Environmental continues deployment of geosynthetics at a gold mine’s heap leach expansion project near Lovelock, Nevada. So far Superintendent Martin Calderon and a 10 man crew have deployed over 750,000 SF of 80mil Textured HDPE geomembrane, 200,000 SF of 12oz Non-Woven Geotextile, and 600,000 SF of GCL. All materials are running down a 2.5:1 slope and tie into an existing phase. The crew have welded over 4,000 LF to tie the two phases together.
With the weather getting colder every day, the crew is taking extra precautions to maintain a safe work environment. The crew has battled high winds, rain, and even ice on the liner on some of the colder mornings. Despite the weather, Martin and the crew have continued to move forward on schedule and without any incidents. Keep up the great work!
