COMANCO Environmental continues to make progress at a Southern California mine expansion project. The crew has finished two of the five vertical pond expansions and is over halfway complete on the third pond. Over 718,000 SF of 60mil Smooth White Conductive HDPE Liner, 734,000 SF of 200mil Geonet, and 388,000 SF of GCL have been installed on the project. The project has also installed over 10,000 SF of 60mil Textured HDPE Liner, 6 HDPE pipe boots and over 21,000 LF of extrusion welding the tie-in to the existing liner. The COMANCO crew is using spark testers as leak location for both the primary and secondary layers of conductive liner.
Superintendent Martin Calderon, Project Engineer Kip Thompson, and the 14 man crew have been battling high winds and dusty conditions. Despite the weather, the crew continues to make excellent time in a safe and professional manner. Keep up the great work guys!
